Julia Richardson is an educator and writer currently working towards her Master in Education and Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential at UCLA. She believes children across the globe unquestionably deserve access to a high quality education, the single greatest resource for ensuring career and college readiness, future prospects and economic stability. She is interested in the intersection of education, art, anthropology, philosophy, psychology, spirituality and health as they relate to child development.
Julia has worked with children enduring numerous kinds of emotional, physical and existential suffering which has instilled in her a deep respect for their resiliency. Her background ranges from teaching at-risk youth with emotional disturbance and multiple disabilities, therapeutically serving elementary aged children with autism from underrepresented communities in South LA, and leading classes in yoga and relaxation techniques for adults and children, to working children with chronic illness in the hospital as an art coach, and providing visual and healing arts therapy for children and adults with autism.
